Can you name New York Cityís Newest Drink?

4/3/2013 - By Marea Edynak

You’ll only find this cocktail in NYC and you can be one of the first in the word to sip this smoking drink at one of the City’s best restaurants, The Sea Grill. The drink was created by Manager Daniel Low to honor autistic kids everywhere in the world and  the drink is so new it doesn’t even have a name yet.

I was honored to have a sneak preview taste of this yet-to-be-named drink last Sunday and I will definitely go back for more. It was served bubbling and smoking. Really.  At first I was afraid it was too hot to taste. But no, it was a nice frosty cold. And you can be one of the first to know the secret. Read the special ingredients at the end.

Yesterday was the kick off of our national Shine a Light on Autism month and as the sun set over New York City; The Empire State Building was bathed in Blue lights for the entire City to see. Over 3000 buildings in the US are participating in Autism Awareness month. The Sea Grill supports Autism Awareness by all of the staff wearing pins and printing the Autism Speaks logo on their menus. And this year Daniel Low used his special   expertise to dream up this amazing and delicious cocktail for the cause that he believes in.

Please join everyone this month to honor autistic kids and those who care for them.

Here is the secret:

The cocktail has Vodka, Triple Sec, White cranberry juice, lime juice, simple syrup and Blue Curacao.  What makes it smoke and bubble is a Misty Stix.  It is a new drink stirrer capsule that you can put dry ice pellets in.  The capsule holds the dry ice which makes it “smoke”.
